Course Outline and Information Pack

"AUTUMN LEAVES"   INTERMEDIATE

These courses are aimed at musicians of all ages and will also suit those who find it difficult to attend our courses that include weekdays. The courses are themed focusing on a particular jazz style or playing the music of a well-known jazz artist.

The title Autumn Leaves gives an insight to a course which will focus on standard jazz songs. Often originating from musicals, films and other shows, these songs have been adopted by jazz musicians and have provided a substantial repertoire for the gigging jazz player, allowing musicians to instantly play and communicate music together without rehearsal. Your knowledge of standard tunes, and ability to improvise on them, will be improved through this course.

Glasgow is home to a vast number of arts centres and theatres, the most unique and inspirational arguably being The Arches, housed in specially adapted performance and workshop spaces beneath the city’s Central Station and including a well-rated restaurant and café bar. The Arches hosts a huge number of festivals each year and has grown a reputation for supporting experimental and non-mainstream art forms which including jazz.

The Jazz Weekender course level may change according to the course content. Please refer to the course outline information found on our website or in the current brochure and ensure you have the required skill level. An explanation of skill levels can be found by clicking on Choose Level in the box on the right. Alternatively please call Jazz Course UK direct.
