22-23 Apr | "JAZZ AND THE BLUES" |
BEGINNER / INTERMEDIATE |
These courses are aimed at musicians of all ages and will
also suit those who find it difficult to attend our courses
that include weekdays. The courses are themed focusing
on a particular jazz style or playing the music of a well-known
jazz artist.
This course explores the strong links between Jazz and The Blues. How can I use a blues approach within a jazz tune? What jazz techniques can I bring to a Blues? Is there more to a Blues than playing the blues scale? (PS. Answer – oh yes!) Playing tunes such as Mercy Mercy Mercy, Angel Eyes, and a variety of 12-bar blues, your improvising skills will be enhanced and invigorated
